The LG C3 is the successor to one of our favorite TVs of all time, bringing the same kind of high-quality motion handling required to deal with motion blur with ease. A newer processor brings improvements over the previous generation, but most bonuses come in the form of higher peak brightness. The C3 does boost improved upscaling tech, which does help make all content look sharp.

The LG C3 is one of our favorite TVs, and while the LG C4 release date has now arrived, the C3 remains a top dog and its pretty damn good at dealing with motion blur. To set the level of motion interpolation on your LG C3 you need only go to TruMotion in the TV settings and adjust according to your preference. LG have also included a black frame insertion feature, which is another way of helping to reduce motion, they call that OLED motion. These features, combines with the LG C3’s excellent refresh rate mean that it is excellent at mitigating motion blur and you can adjust the levels based on what you like. Ideal for gaming alongside the 120Hz refresh rate via HDMI 2.1.

We previously reviewed the LG C2 OLED TV and the LG C3 pretty much does everything the C2 can do, but a little better. It admittedly wasn’t a massive improvement over the 2nd generation C-Series OLED, so you can still find the C2 if you want something a little cheaper these days thanks to its age.

The Samsung S95C is also up there with our favorite TVs at the moment. Like the LG C-series, the S95C has a couple of great built in features to help combat motion blur. Again motion interpolation and black frame insertion are present and can be adjusted. In this you can find these features under Picture Clarity settings and black frame insertion is known as LED Clear Motion. These features go a long way to cancelling out motion blur making this a great TV for the job.

If you’re looking to save some cash, we present to you the Sony X80K. This is the much lower-specced LED backlight equivalent to their OLED A80K series – so instead consider that for that if you’re set on finding a high-quality OLED panel like our other top picks. Moving on though to the X80K and it provides excellent motion handling support via Sony’s Motionflow XR 240 technology. This is another 4K display – we wouldn’t recommend any TV lower than that these days, backed up by solid 4K upscaling too. You get all the smart TV functionality you’d expect with Google TV for all your favorite streaming services. One of the drawbacks here is the 60Hz refresh rate, so not as natively smooth but the motion handling is still good regardless – lookout for settings such as CineMotion and Motionflow smoothness settings.

We’d suggest going for an OLED TV if you want excellent motion handling due to being highly responsive with sub-1ms response times. If you don’t quite have the budget to afford a premium OLED television though, then there are still good options available to you.
