AMD announced the new Radeon RX 6000 series yesterday, showing that when paired with a Ryzen 5000 CPU there are performance benefits to be had. This comes in the form of, what AMD is calling Smart Access Memory, which means more efficient use of the combined memory of the CPU and GPU, reducing buffering and latency.

One reason we love autumn here at WeJiJ is that we get a nice chunk of brand new hardware releases all at the same time. We've already had the 3080 and 3090 GPUs release from Nvidia, and we've got the AMD Big Navi release on the horizon too. One hardware release we’re getting sooner rather than later though is the long-awaiting AMD Zen 3 CPUs.
Now that we finally have an announcement date of October 8th, we can start marking off the days on our calendars and getting our PCs ready for their next upgrade.
Be sure to watch the announcement live below:
Where To Buy AMD Ryzen Zen 3 Processors
The new AMD Zen 3 CPU chips are expected to release on October 8th, 2020 and we will be updating the links below with any purchase pages the instant they go live.
We expect the usual outlets to get those most stock - Amazon, Best Buy, NewEgg and the like so check here first for direct links to:-
AMD Zen 3 CPU Listings, Pre Order, & Prices – Amazon US
Amazon US is about to start listing the new AMD Zen 3 CPUs on their website. There doesn’t appear to be any buy options just yet but hopefully stock will be available as soon as the release date comes around.
Retailers in the Uk are already starting to list the highly anticipated AMD Zen 3 processors on their websites. We are starting to see prices for the Ryzen 9 5950X, Ryzen 9 5900X, Ryzen 7 5800X, and Ryzen 5 5600X. there are currently no pre order options just yet but we can see the price on certain websites.
We are going to be continually updating these as more retailers go live with the AMD Zen 3 and we will be sure to include any pre order options we find.

We are now starting to see AMD Zen 3 CPUs being listed on certain Spanish retail sites. Prices aren’t quite available yet but we will be continually updating this page to ensure you don’t miss out.
Compared to its predecessor, the AMD Zen 2, we can expect a good performance increase from the Zen 3. They come with higher core counts, higher clock speeds, higher instructions per clock, and more transistor density. What that all means is that Zen 3 will be one hell of a powerhouse CPU when it drops.
It’s not just a refresh of the existing Zen 2, it’s a complete overhaul. While this means it’s hard to predict exactly what performance increases we can expect some significant changes thanks to the new architecture.
If leaks so far are true, the more powerful Ryzen 4000 series processors will feature up to 5GHz clock speeds, a 400 MHz improvement over the Ryzen 9 3900X but, there’s been no official confirmation on that so let’s just hold out for the October announcement.
Again, while not officially announced, we expect the same naming convention to occur, with the CPUs essentially improving in performance as the numbers increase. For example, the more budget option will be the AMD Ryzen 5 4600 then increasing through the Ryzen 5 4600x, Ryzen 7 4700x, and Ryzen 7 4800x until the top tier Ryzen 9 4900x.
There has recently been talk of the naming convention being changed from 4xxx to 5xxx but we are going to have to wait and see on that one. We will update this page as soon as the official confirmation comes through.
Update: AMD's Zen 3 5000-Series CPUs will release on November 5th, 2020
AMD has confirmed a live event for the release of these next-gen CPUs. This event for AMD Zen 3 is October 8th, 2020.
Here we should get a whole host of new information and specifications.
We are already beginning to see leaks and early benchmarks. These are exciting times in the PCC hardware arena.
Update: We now have official pricing for the next-gen AMD CPUs
AMD Ryzen 9 5900X - $549
AMD Ryzen 9 5800X - $449
AMD Ryzen 9 5600X - $299
AMD Ryzen 9 5950X - $799
When it comes to how much the AMD Zen 3 CPUs will go for, we’ll know for sure on October 8th, but we’re able to make a pretty educated guess.
There’s no reason to suggest they won’t be priced the same as their Zen 2 counterparts, so looking at those prices will give us a good idea. We can imagine them going for $99 at the bottom end (Ryzen 5 4600) and $500 at the high end (Ryzen 9 4900X).
October 8th launch date confirmed
Early leaks suggest huge 5Ghz clock potential on high-spec CPU
Leaked benchmark looks like mid-range CPU could out-perform Intel's fastest gaming CPU
TSMC N7P or N7+ process
Expected to move to Extreme Ultraviolet lithography allowing for up to a 20% increase in performance and 10% decrease in power consumption
