After a low-key AMD keynote that didn’t really scratch any of our gaming itches, it was down to Nvidia’s keynote following immediately to fly the flag for excitement.

After the 2020 Nvidia managed with its well-publicized stock shortages, they were looking to get off to a flyer in 2021.

Possibly. At the end of last year, Nvidia launched Reflex, a system that reduces latency for players and improves competitive edge in esports. To get the benefit though you need a Relfex enabled monitor and until now there hasn’t been that many of them about.

ten competitive esports titles now feature Reflex technology with today’s announcement. and in more interesting news Nvidia has teamed up with Asus, ACER, and AOC Nvidia to produce five new monitors that will expand the Reflex ecosystem to include a 34” ultrawide model as well as 1440p resolution.

There were no further details of the displays themselves but we expect that to follow shortly.

What is Nvidia Reflex?

NVIDIA Reflex dynamically reduces system latency by combining both GPU and game optimizations. Enable Reflex Low Latency mode in top competitive games such as Call of Duty: Warzone, Valorant, Apex Legends, Destiny 2, and Fortnite to boost responsiveness. Paired with the raw horsepower of GeForce RTX 30 Series GPUs, Reflex delivers the reaction-time needed when every millisecond counts.

MEASURE RESPONSIVENESS

PC performance for competitive gaming is about responsiveness—how quickly your display updates after mouse click. NVIDIA Reflex Latency Analyzer, built into new NVIDIA G-SYNC displays*, captures end-to-end system latency and delivers a precise measure of your PC’s performance. Step confidently into battle knowing your PC is performing at peak level with GeForce RTX GPUs and NVIDIA Reflex Latency Analyzer-compatible displays and mice.
